New Article in Cytotherapy

Our new paper on marketing of unproven stem cell interventions and the role of medical societies in patient advocacy and education is published in Cytotherapy.

This work was in collaboration with Daniel J. Weiss, Professor of Medicine, University of Vermont College of Medicine; Leigh Turner, Associate Professor, Center for Bioethics, University of Minnesota; and Aaron D. Levine, Associate Professor, School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Ikonomou and other members of the American Thoracic Society Stem Cell Working Group wrote an AJRCCM patient-centric Public Health information piece on unproven “stem cell” interventions for lung disease. Thanks to the ATS, the COPD Foundation, the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada and the Malaysian Thoracic Society for featuring this piece on their websites.
